Postdoc Program
Center for Modelling and Simulation in the Biosciences
The Center for Modelling and Simulation in the Biosciences (BIOMS) in Heidelberg,
Germany, offers positions for postgraduate scientists working in cell biology.
The scientific aim of the interdisciplinary research at BIOMS is the establishment
of modern methods of mathematical modelling, simulation and data analysis in the
life sciences. The research focuses on the question how the cell as a system
arises from the interplay of biochemical and physical processes. In particular,
new methods are developed in order to achieve a quantitative understanding
of biological processes, both on the molecular level and on the level of cells
and tissues.
Positions
The focus of the research project should be dedicated to
quantitative aspects of molecular biology, for example to modelling
functional modules in hierarchically organized biological systems.
Candidates and projects are
subject to a thorough review process. In case of positive reviews,
postdoc positions will be granted for at least one year, at most
three years.
